Love Triangles
As well as being in the thrust of the golden age of piracy, back in the 17th Century everyone seemed to be in head over heels in love with everyone else. Princes would seek the hand of a married woman and their efforts would be foiled by the advances of sinister plotters, conspiring to get themselves in on the action all resulting in a few tears along the way. At least that’s how Francesco Cavalli saw it happen in his epic opera L’Ormindo.
Very rarely seeing the light of day the piece is coming to stage with the Pinchgut Opera in Sydney and creative agency This is Real Art have come up trumps with a splendid concept of interactive love triangles to whet people’s appetites for the show this December.
The crux of these love triangles is to give a dynamic visualisation of the story’s characters and their ever-changing relationships. Pirata brought these to life by suspending the diagram in a clickable and draggable 3D space, revealing little snippets of the relationships along the way.
